With only five games on tonight’s schedule it is important to pick your players from the games you believe will be the highest scoring. Any time anyone asks me for advice about fantasy hockey, I tell them to go with their first instinct – you should too.
Centers:
Ryan Getzlaf (ANA) – Pricey, I know. But the reality is Getzlaf is producing and playing great. Furthermore, he signed a 66 million dollar contract extension today, and has a good matchup against the Calgary Flames.
Marcus Kruger (CHI) – Krueger comes in cheap and has points in his last two games. With the injuries that Chicago sustained the other night, Kruger should see more ice time with high skilled players like Patrick Kane.
J.T. Miller (NYR) – This kid is only 19 years old but looks more like a seasoned veteran. With the injury Brad Richards sustained over the weekend, J.T. is centering a line between Ryan Callahan and Marian Gaborik.
Left Wingers:
Jonathon Huberdeau (FLA) – This kid is lethal. The Panther’s are coming off a tough loss to the Washington Capitals so look for them to bounce back with a solid effort tonight.
Bobby Ryan (ANA) – He might not be producing the way he used to, but luckily for him it has landed him on the top line amongst Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. He is a must play tonight at his price.
Jiri Hudler/Mike Cammalleri (CGY) – Calgary has been scoring; Anaheim plays in high scoring games. One of these players will have points tonight – take your pick.
Right Wingers:
Jarome Iginla (CGY) – It was no surprise that Iginla started off the season with a subpar performance because that is his typical start to the season. However, just like every year he is turning it on mid season and is on a tear right now. Play him on all your teams.
Corey Perry (ANA) – Besides the fact he is playing with Getzlaf and Ryan, he also just saw his linemate sign a 66 million contract and should step up his play (which is already good) with the trade deadline looming.
Marian Gaborik (NYR) – He is as streaky as they come but there is no doubting his scoring prowess. If you can’t fit in some of the other players then Gaborik is a cheap alternative.
Defensemen:
Brian Campbell (FLA) – When he scores, he scores a lot. My instincts tell me this is a good pick tonight but the price tag scares me a little.
T.J. Brodie (CGY) – This on the other hand is a much cheaper pick. He won’t come out and get you 10 fantasy points but he plays on the power play and should be good for a PPA.
Michael Del Zotto (NYR) – Plays the point on the improving NYR power play, and did I mention Rick Nash plays on that power play?
Goalies:
This is a tough one. Something tells me Semyon Varlamov (COL) will be the pick of the night and Chicago will finally lose but it’s hard to go against Chicago period. With hat being said:
Scott Clemmensen (FLA) – Take the gamble. I think it’s worth it.
Pekka Rinne (NSH) – He has been awful as of late but he has to turn it around sooner or later.

I like Rinne tonight too, Mike.
