washington-capitals 1. Washington Capitals (LW-1)

Washington is on their bye week but have the best record in the league.

pittsburgh-penguins 2. Pittsburgh Penguins (LW-2)

Sidney Crosby became the 12th fastest players to reach 1,000 points and with it, the Penguins move within five points of the Capitals.

minnesota-wild 3. Minnesota Wild (LW-3)

Minnesota continues to play great and Devan Dubnyk is still the big favorite to win the Vezina.

san_jose_sharks 4. San Jose Sharks (LW-4)

Brent Burns has 25 goals this year and may not only win the Norris trophy, but the Art Ross and the Hart as well. That’s some Bobby Orr stuff right there.

chicago.blackhawks1 5. Chicago Blackhawks (LW-5)

Chicago continues to win games as they’ve won five in a row in February and are on their bye week.

anaheim-ducks 6. Anaheim Ducks (LW-8)

The Ducks continue to play well as they’re second in the Pacific but may need a big acquistion at the deadline if they’re going to go on a run.

New_York_Rangers 7. New York Rangers (LW-7)

They’ve won six out of seven but haven’t gained any ground in the ferocious Metropolitan division.

Columbus Blue Jackets 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 8. Columbus Blue Jackets (LW-6)

The Jackets continue to regress a bit but Cam Atkinson continues his amazing season as he has 27 goals.

Edmonton Oilers 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 9. Edmonton Oilers (LW-10)

Connor McDavid continues to make a strong case for the Hart trophy.

nashville-Predators1 10. Nashville  Predators (LW-12)

The Predators had a big comeback against the Stars last week which was good enough to rise even more in the rankings. They return to action on Saturday after the bye week.

 st-louis-blues 11. St. Louis Blues (LW-23)

St. Louis is 7-1 since Mike Yeo took over and have climbed into a playoff spot. This could be a very dangerous team down the stretch.

montreal_canadiens1 12.Montreal Canadiens (LW-9)

Michel Therrien got canned because of how bad the Habs were playing, but with Claude Julien at the helm now, this team may just explode.

ottawa-senators 13. Ottawa Senators (LW-13)

Ottawa is climbing the standings and are now just four points out of first place in the Atlantic. A return to the playoffs seems very likely.

losangeles-kings 14. Los Angeles Kings (LW-11)

Los Angeles lost to Arizona following their bye week and continue to miss Jonathan Quick. They may need to add more scoring at the deadline.

15. Toronto Maple Leafs (LW-14)

Toronto absolutely smacked the Islanders 7-1 at home and are currently in the last wild card spot. Will they be buyers at the deadline?

Boston Bruins 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 16. Boston Bruins (LW-19)

Boston has gotten some good results so far under Bruce Cassidy and they find themselves two back of second place in the Atlantic.

Florida Panthers 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 17.Florida Panthers (LW-17)

Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov have been outstanding since coming back from injury and Jaromir Jagr got to 1900 points. He’s just a treasure.

NewYorkIslandersOld 18. New York Islanders (LW-20)

New York continues to play better under Doug Weight and just beat the Rangers at home 4-2. They’ve climbed back into the hunt for the final wild card spot.

philadelphia_flyers 19. Philadelphia Flyers (LW-18)

The Flyers have lost the first two on the Western Canada road trip but still remain a bubble team. Ron Hextall has a tough decision to make before the deadline if he wants to buy or sell a little.

Carolina Hurricanes 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 20.  Carolina Hurricanes (LW-15)

Carolina is last in the very tough Metropolitan division but face Colorado Friday night to try and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Calgary Flames 2016 Team Preview 21. Calgary Flames (LW-16)

Johnny Gaudreau was demoted to the fourth line during their game against Arizona but the Flames came back and beat the Flyers to continue to try to make the playoffs.

Tampa-Bay-Lightning 22.  Tampa Bay Lightning (LW-26)

The Bolts are on their bye week and have been playing well lately but they still have to leapfrog a bunch of teams for a playoff spot. The Ben Bishop situation will continue to get interesting.

 vancouver-canucks 23. Vancouver Canucks (LW-21)

Vancouver got badly outplayed by the Penguins Tuesday night and this doesn’t look like a playoff team and hasn’t all season.

new-jersey-devils 24. New Jersey Devils (LW-24)

New Jersey got shutout by Ottawa last night and they may have to put a couple of their pending free agents on the trading block.

winnipeg-jets 25. Winnipeg Jets (LW-22)

Patrik Laine is tied for the rookie lead in goals with Auston Matthews but bad goaltending continues to push them further out of a playoff spot.

Buffalo Sabres 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 26. Buffalo Sabres (LW-25)

Despite beating Colorado recently, the Sabres continue to rotate wins and losses. They can’t do that if they have any hope of somehow sliding into a playoff spot.

detroit-redwings1 27. Detroit Red Wings (LW-27)

It really says something about the Red Wings when their leading scorer is 36 year old Henrik Zetterberg. Also, RIP to owner Mike IIitch as his impact on the city will be felt for many years to come.

Dallas Stars 2016 Fantasy Hockey Preview 28. Dallas Stars (LW-28)

The Stars are letting their faint playoff hopes slip away and it may force Jim Nill to trade some players.

Arizona-Coyotes 29. ARIZONA COYOTES (LW-29)

They’re gonna be sellers at the deadline and it’ll be interesting to see if both Hanzal and Vrbata get dealt.

colorado-avalanche 30. COLORADO AVALANCHE (LW-30)

The deadline is two weeks away and it’s expected that some big moves will be made.
